Congratulations to the 2022 Winners!

The SolUnesco Foundation awarded $17,500 to seven programs and services from six organizations serving Charlotte County residents, through the SolUnesco Strengthening Communities Awards.

The SolUnesco Foundation invited all nonprofits, charities, and schools that serve residents of Charlotte County to submit pressing needs in their community and how their program, service, or special project addressed these needs and enhanced the lives of residents and the community. A panel of judges reviewed all applicants for their innovative approaches, thoroughness of planning, and potential benefits.

“We all benefit when we support deserving members of our community in need of assistance,” said SolUnesco CEO Francis Hodsoll. “This foundation is a way to support the incredible efforts already being made to enhance the lives of Virginia residents. And it’s a way to encourage new ideas and innovations that need early support.”

The SolUnesco Foundation was created to support and engage community residents, business owners, schools, and county services in the areas where SolUnesco develops solar projects.

*UPDATE*

To hold a second round of awards, we are seeking additional funding support. Our goal is to invite second-round applicants to apply for up to $2,500 to fund their community-based project or service. We anticipate sourcing funds in the near future, at which point we will re-open the SolUnesco Strengthening Communities Awards to new applications.

Thank you for your continued support and for a remarkable first round of awards. We’ll bring you updates soon!
